Jasmine is a swinging ceramic teapot. Why to lift the heaviest and hot pot when you could easily bring the lighter and cold cup toward it? A smart object, self produced and entirely made in Italy. A new way to rethink the tea ceremony. Project developed with Andrea Filippi.
The proposed system is based on a trolley which join the old tray to create a much more easy and safe way to approach the self service restaurant. All the products and environments designed are inherently accessible to both people without disabilities and people with disabilities.
Project based on the relation between design activity and the quiet life of a little Italian neighborhood. A series of works to express the artistic thread that links a community with their own products.
<img src="https://payload.cargocollective.com/1/6/211134/3141160/lovS2.jpg" width="670" height="497" width_o="674" height_o="500" src_o="https://payload.cargocollective.com/1/6/211134/3141160/lovS2_o.jpg" data-mid="16058029" border="0" align="left" data-title="670 — 670 × 497"data-hi-res="https://payload.cargocollective.com/1/6/211134/3141160/lovS2_o.jpg" />
Flip-flops made by fruit and vegetable boxes belong to the neighborhood's market.
Doormat made by old rubber soles.
Together with neighborhood's shoes repairer we collect used soles representing their steps and giving them a warm welcome back at home.
C-hair is a restyling of an old wood chair using human hairs in spite of foam. We asked to the neighborhood's hairdresser to collect our neighbors hairs as precious raw material. Critical design mixed with waste awareness have been the topics for a sparkling debate.

<img src="https://payload.cargocollective.com/1/6/211134/3141160/lovS10.jpg" width="670" height="497" width_o="674" height_o="500" src_o="https://payload.cargocollective.com/1/6/211134/3141160/lovS10_o.jpg" data-mid="16058141" border="0" align="left" data-title="670 — 670 × 497"data-hi-res="https://payload.cargocollective.com/1/6/211134/3141160/lovS10_o.jpg" />
From a bunch of queue tickets collected from a little supermarket a fan comes to live. Useful to blow away the economic crisis.
One of the most dramatic problems of the neighborhood was the dog's poo; massive and everywhere! Design activity helped the community and each inhabitant was responsible to warn his brothers. A simple flyer could transform an annoying zig-zag into a fun Olympic game.

Share the Parking! If you already paid for the park but you haven't use the total amount of time, please leave your ticket to someone else. If you know when you gonna move, please let us know in a way we can park our car. Few steps to friendship and collaboration.
Strategic design, Torino World Design Capital, Canavese,

Canavese Connexion is the result of careful analysis of the network of small and medium-sized companies in the Canavese area, an industrial district with great production potential but often bound to supply contracts that limit the development of individual companies.
We were strongly behind this project, convinced as we are that design is not just style and aesthetic but it can truly constitute the drive to innovation. Design results in the creation of alternative routes that companies can follow without the financial burden of investing in new equipment and technology.
The idea behind the project was to favour the creation of a profitable and lasting relationship between the world of design and manufacturing companies in the Canavese area. Canavese Connexion sought to shorten distances and fuel dialogue between production and design, acting as a go-between for young designers and companies, and bringing the educational world closer to that of work. A competition was held with a jury comprising Design Gang Network, the City of Ivrea, Confindustria Canavese and Torino 2008 World Design Capital to select ten work teams, each formed of a professional designer , a design student and a Canavese company. Each team developed new products far removed from the company’s core business that would alter and upgrade its production but based on technology already in the company’s possession. The design phase started in March 2008 and the companies began making prototypes after the creative proposals had been developed. Over the next six months, each team produced one or more products.
The prototypes, all strictly made in Italy, were presented at twin exhibitions in Ivrea and Turin, as part of the Torino 2008 World Design Capital calendar.
The various partnerships between design and industry created design synergies that could be turned into an actual product. The time the designers devoted to learning about the companies and their ability to produce feasible and marketable solutions encouraged the companies to believe and invest in the single projects. In turn, the companies provided precious technical assistance and turned the proposed concepts into concrete reality. The validity of the project and its results is demonstrated by the patents registered for some of the ideas developed, the large sums the companies invested in prototypes and experimentation and the start of partnerships that seem destined to last.
The Istituto Europeo di Design of Turin, through the Master Course in Design for Sport aimed to train designers to enable them to interpret and translate into a product the needs of sportsmen. Students have been introduced to the "World of the Extreme", so that they may understand it's motivations (the challenge, the search for the limit of ones performance) and the rules (ethics, ecology, respect for Nature).
As course coordinator I have been running the master for three years and I was in charge of the course planning, contents creation and faculty selection.
The Master's was divided into 3 workshop series of 5-7weeks each, which will start with experimental and creative exploration and develop into tangible plans able to be made into real products. The course ended with the development of a thesis upon a real customer's request. The three initial projects introduced students to the meaning of extreme, the needs of the athletes and the equipment which strengthens and assists the athletes in their sporting performance.
