Sci_Fi Prototyping — paolocardini

Inspired by the homonym book by Intel futurist Brian David Johnson, Science Fiction Prototyping is a project developed with MFA Design students at VCUQatar. Main goal of the work was providing a comprehensive analysis of future scenarios and their relation with human’s artifact and strategies. How does science fiction affect product development? Are people running after a suggested future or are they building their own vision? Through this course the students have been pushed to reflect on these questions, to project their own point of view into a far future and, back to the present, to design solution to achieve or avoid that scenario.

Ivory is the name of a restaurant whose menu allow you to choose the food and the related tool.

No more traditional pregnancies; the scientific progresses and future social constrains draw a reality in which artificial wombs will definitely replace women's bodies (read the story). In this kind of environment a new object has been theorize, a fetish jewel that take shape proportionally according to the fetus dimensions and data, filling the physical void created by the in-vitrio growth.
